The winter ended up being much busier than I thought. Very little work was accomplished on the sub until this month. All the systems are now operational including the compressed air for the ballast tanks. The Needlefish is now ready to test. I can't believe the amount of time and work it took to get to this point. The two compressed air bottles hold 500 cubic ft. @ 2500 lbs. pressure, the lines run to regulators mounted on the conning tower sides. From the regulators the pressure can be adjusted as needed. After testing I will begin to install the electronics and other various equipment needed to complete the boat. All testing will be done at the marina for safety reasons. The boat will not leave the dock until I am completely satisfied that everything is operating correctly. Thanks for checking in and be sure to check out the wreck site pictures I have posted. These pictures were taken with a drop video camera and were down loaded to the computer with a Snappy video set up. See what you can find in the pictures. |
