After having such success the previous day, I took out my daughter Nicole and girlfriend Ming fishing for weakies. After loading up with live peanut bunker, we headed out to Steelman's Thoroughfare & Broadcreek. It was a little breezy during the late afternoon, the tide was high and the water temp was 73. After fishing Steelman's for a while with no luck we headed to the heart of Broadcreek. The tide was neutral so I let the wind gently push us across the creek in a zig zag pattern allowing us to cover allot of water. The LadiesAfter a couple of drifts I found a lot of fish in 20' of water. We live lined the bunker near the bottom with a 1/2 ounce weight and a 4' leader. We must have boated about twenty weakfish between 15 and 23", 10 bluefish and a 18" flounder to boot! The weakies have arrived in good numbers as they do each year to feed on the abundance of peanut bunker in the bays. Now's the time to get out and enjoy some early fall fishing.
