Taking the liberty here of publishing two of Tom Cat's reports in one posting. This man just gets out to fish far to often, oh well, those of us who are stuck behind a computer screen can at least live (fish) vicariously ... so here are the latest two reports from TC. 5/29/02 I had very little luck on Friday and Monday earlier this week catching only a handful of fish and even fewer keepers. Today was the best day of Fluke fishing I've experienced since the season opened 11 days ago. I contribute my success primarily to an increase in water temperature & cleaner weed free water. I boated over 20 Fluke today jigging a 3/8 ounce white bucktail tipped with squid, six of which were keepers. I managed a couple of Weakfish in Steelman's and numerous 2 & 3 lb Bluefish on the flats of Absecon Bay. My persistence finally paid off today, continue to work your way through the shorts and the keepers will soon follow. 5/30/02 Conditions
today were ideal with warm sunny weather and very little wind. I fished
Black Point today concentrating on drop offs & ledges in 4 to
12 feet of water. I continue to have great success with the 3/8
ounce white jig tipped with a squid trailer using light spinning gear.
With the water being exceptionally clean and warm I was able to catch a
limit of eight fish to 19".
